Sustainability
The low-carbon transition of global energy has become an irreversible industry trend. Sulphur hexafluoride (SF₆), a potent greenhouse gas with a global warming potential (GWP) 23,500 times that of CO₂, is a key regulated substance for emission reduction within the global power sector.
HM Power deeply integrates sustainability into its core corporate strategy. Rooted in our proprietary zero-SF₆ atmospheric pressure sealed natural air insulation technology, we collaborate with global partners to drive the green transformation of the power distribution industry and help meet global low-carbon energy transition targets.

Aligning with global emission reduction trends and focusing on green technology pathways
Driven by global carbon neutrality goals, the Chinese government is advancing controls on non-CO₂ greenhouse gas emissions, prioritizing the R&D and large-scale rollout of SF₆ alternative technologies. The EU F-Gas Regulation (EU) 2024/573 has entered into force. Starting from 2026, SF₆-containing electrical equipment will be banned for medium-voltage applications up to 24kV. The green transition of power distribution equipment has entered a policy-enforced window worldwide.
HM Power began developing its zero-SF₆ technology roadmap more than a decade in advance. Our flagship ASNA series natural air insulated switchgear eliminates SF₆ insulating gas entirely, removing greenhouse gas emission risks at source. Aligned with environmental policies set by governments worldwide and industry decarbonization trends, it is a preferred, fully compliant solution for the green upgrade of power distribution equipment.
Green procurement to build a low-carbon upstream ecosystem
We have established strict supplier onboarding and periodic evaluation systems. Environmental principles and carbon footprint management are integrated into core supplier assessment criteria. We prioritize upstream partners with green manufacturing qualifications and compliance with international environmental standards, controlling the whole-life carbon footprint of our products from the supply chain source.
High-quality local suppliers are preferred to cut carbon emissions from long-distance transportation. A full-lifecycle traceability system for critical components ensures the quality compliance and environmental traceability of all raw materials. Together with suppliers, we build a green, stable and traceable supply chain ecosystem.
Original technology enabling green power distribution from the source
R&D is the core driver of sustainability. HM Power continuously invests in the core Atmospheric pressure Sealed Natural Air insulated technology, breaking the monopoly of conventional SF₆ technical routes and building a fully independent intellectual property portfolio. Fundamental technological innovation delivers deep decarbonization across the industry.
We have filed multiple core invention patents covering air insulated structures, sealing processes, vacuum interrupters and intelligent monitoring, achieving a 100% replacement of insulating media with natural air. Each unit reduces greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to tens of tons of CO₂ over its lifecycle. Our equipment achieves zero greenhouse effect, zero toxic decomposition by-products and zero end-of-life disposal costs for distribution assets.
Building a low-carbon production system based on the 5M1E framework
We integrate the concepts of green manufacturing and carbon reduction throughout the entire production process. Relying on the 5M1E lean production management system and supported by our modern smart manufacturing base, we implement comprehensive, standardized and digitalized green production control. We cut production energy consumption, material waste and environmental impacts at source, establishing a practical, traceable and optimizable low-carbon intelligent manufacturing system.
End-to-end lean production management to reduce energy consumption and material waste per unit product
Classified recycling system for industrial waste with high-rate recycling of metallic materials
Precise digitalized energy consumption control to balance large-scale production capacity and low-carbon targets
In-house manufacturing of core components to reduce carbon emissions from intermediate circulation links
People-centric approach for safety and shared growth
Employees are the cornerstone of corporate sustainability. HM Power strictly complies with the ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management system. We build a standardized safe working environment, refine three-level safety training and risk prevention mechanisms, and fully safeguard the occupational health and safety of every employee.
We prioritize employee growth and career development, offering a comprehensive skill training system, clear promotion paths and competitive compensation and benefits. We actively fulfil corporate social responsibilities by participating in industry technical exchanges, green public welfare initiatives and talent cultivation programmes. We drive technological progress across the industry and deliver shared growth for the company, employees and local communities.
Partnering with customers for a greener power distribution future
Beyond supplying green distribution equipment, we strive to deliver full-lifecycle sustainable value for customers. From solution design and project delivery to operation and maintenance services, we help customers reduce the overall carbon footprint of their distribution systems, meet requirements for green project certification, low-carbon ratings and ESG development, and support customers in achieving their sustainability goals.
We collaborate with global distributors, EPC contractors, power grid enterprises and other partners to accelerate the worldwide adoption of zero-SF₆ technology. Together we build a green power distribution industrial ecosystem, realize shared value and win-win development through cooperation, and march toward a carbon-neutral future.
Partnering with customers for a greener power distribution future
Looking ahead, HM Power will continue to deepen its expertise in zero-SF₆ green power distribution technology and continuously improve our full-spectrum sustainability system. We drive the green upgrade of the industry through technological innovation and create low-carbon value through responsible practices, striving to become a leader and contributor to sustainable development in the global power distribution sector.
