HM Power: Pioneering SF₆-Free Medium Voltage Switchgear Solutions Since 2009
2026-10-19
Against the backdrop of global energy transition and tightening greenhouse gas regulations including the EU F-Gas Regulation (EU) 2024/573, the power distribution industry is accelerating the shift away from SF₆-insulated equipment. As a forward-thinking medium-voltage switchgear manufacturer founded in 2009, HM Power has been dedicated to fully fluorine-free power distribution solutions from its very beginning, long before regulatory mandates took center stage.
This corporate video takes you through HM Power's 17-year journey of innovation and validation. We built our international R&D team with senior experts from world-leading electrical enterprises including ABB and Siemens, combining European engineering craftsmanship with China's advanced manufacturing capabilities. Our core breakthrough — ASNA (Atmospheric pressure Sealed Natural-Air) insulated technology — eliminates SF₆ entirely by using natural air as the insulation medium, housed in a pressure-balanced sealed tank.
Since our first SF₆-free switchgear unit was commissioned in Sweden in 2010, our solutions have been proven at scale across the globe. Today, over 60,000 HM Power units operate reliably in mission-critical applications: State Grid of China headquarters, satellite launch centers, the FAST Telescope, Nordic power grids, large-scale data centers and industrial parks. All products comply with IEC 62271 standards, pass rigorous KEMA type tests, and hold ISO and TÜV system certifications.
We do not claim our path is the only solution for decarbonization. But we believe that atmospheric air-insulated technology is a viable, proven and sustainable path worth advancing. At HM Power, we continue to innovate and deliver reliable, zero-SF₆ switchgear to help build a cleaner, more dependable and more sustainable power future for customers across Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and beyond.
